She is blissful. She is strong. She is free.
Crystal Queen
She is structure, she is harmony, she amplifies and transmits. She is energy. She comes in many forms.
Her crown is pure quartz crystal. Her earrings and necklace are crafted from hematite, glass seed beads, and quartz chips. The pendant is hanging from sterling silver wire. Her staff is embellished with more quartz crystals.
The grain has ripened. Another gift from the Mother to sustain her children.
To honor this gift, corn dolls were crafted from the last sheaves. These dolls represented the Harvest Spirit, the Mother Goddess. They were hung wherever the threshing was carried out, or by the warmth of the hearth. Then, in the Spring, the corn doll would be ploughed into the field to ensure a good harvest or burned in the Beltaine fire to achieve the same goal.
I celebrate this tradition by honoring the Elements, the Wisewomen, and those who have inspired me,
through a different kind of corn doll. All are hand-crafted with love by me.
I call them Maize Goddesses.
