Himalayan Cedarwood
Cedrus deodora
Essential oil is obtained through steam distillation of the leaves (herb).
The Himalayan Cedarwood essential oil we currently sell is produced in India.  Similar Cedarwoods are produced in Africa and Lebanon.  There are other Cedarwood oils produced from trees grown in the United States.
BLENDING, NOTE, SCENT: Himalayan Cedarwood is a Middle Note oil.  It is thought to blend well with Lavender, Patchouli, Neroli, Sandalwood, Vetiver, and citrus oils.  I have tried it with citrus and had very nice results.  Also considered a fixative. Other combinations are currently being tested.  Add this page to your favorites, for future results.
As for the scent of Himalayan Cedarwood, everyone’s lymbic system is different.  The sensation I get from the batch I have for sale now, is warm, sweet and a tinge of orange finish.  The origin of the botanicals can make a difference in the final product, and again, everyone’s smell perception is not the same.
