Carrot Seed
Daucus Carota
Essential oil is obtained through steam distillation of the carrot seeds, usually dried.
Carrot Seed essential oil is obtained from the seeds.  It has different properties from the vegetable carrot.  The vitamins found in the vegetable carrot are not present in the seeds.

My current carrot seed oil is from France.
BLENDING, NOTE, SCENT:  Carrot Seed essential oil is a Middle Note oil.  I've only blended carrot seed with lavender when making my Desert Sea Lotion.  This is for it's skin revitalizing properties.  I also use it in my Cuticle and Nail Saver oil, so it blends well with eucalyptus radiata.  As far as blending to achieve a specific scent combination, I have not found it useful for that, though others may have.  I encourage you to investigate.  For me, this is one of the best oils for the skin.
As for the scent of Carrot Seed essential oil, contrary to popular belief, does not smell like carrots.  At the time of this writing, I cannot think of words to describe the smell of Carrot Seed oil.  I'll have to ponder over this one a little longer.  Visit often for updates.
